Development of an AIS Adapter in the CISE Environment
For the client Eviden d.o.o., within a project implemented for the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia, RGO Communications Ltd. participated in the development of a software solution for connecting the national AIS system with the CISE environment.
CISE — Common Information Sharing Environment — is a European initiative aimed at making maritime surveillance systems of EU/EEA Member States interoperable. The purpose of the CISE network is to enable secure and efficient exchange of relevant information among competent authorities from different sectors, including maritime safety and security, environmental protection, border control, fisheries control, customs and law enforcement.
Within the project, RGO Communications developed an AIS adapter that enables data exchange between the existing AIS information system and the CISE node. The activities included preparation of the design document, analysis of the AIS system and data model, definition of the data exchange interface, implementation of the adapter, functional testing and deployment of the solution into the production environment.
The developed solution contributes to improved interoperability of maritime surveillance systems, more secure data exchange and more efficient use of AIS information within the European maritime surveillance framework.
